β WorldCurio
A travel site for people
who read before they book.
WorldCurio started as a pile of browser tabs. Visa rules in one, plug types in another, a half-reliable list of things to see in a third. We wanted all of that in one place that loads fast and doesn't ask you to sign up, so we built it.
Our mission
Most trips begin with a lot of small questions. Do I need a visa? When is it too hot to go? What does a normal dinner cost? Which plug fits? The answers exist, but they are scattered, and half of them sit behind pop-ups.
So the site is organised around those questions. There are country profiles, written guides for a growing list of destinations, write-ups of individual places and dishes, and a set of small tools for the practical stuff. The games are there because learning where things are is more fun when you can get it wrong first.
Everything is free and there are no accounts. The site pays for itself with display ads, and some pages link out to booking sites. Ads are not allowed to change what we write, and we only link to things we would point a friend towards.

What we stand for
Open to everyone
No paywall, no login, no subscription. If you can open the page, you can use the tool.
Accuracy first
Entry rules, emergency numbers and prices change. When a reader tells us something is out of date, we check it and fix it. If we canβt confirm a fact, we leave it out.
Built for travellers
The tools are the things we kept looking up ourselves: plug types, SIM options, layover plans, packing lists.
Privacy-respecting
We use basic analytics and ads, and nothing more. We donβt sell personal data and we donβt ask for sign-up. The privacy policy spells out the details.
